It’s Monday, what are you reading?—a weekly blog meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.
Still working on the three I was reading last Monday:
- About This Life by Barry Lopez
- Big Brother by Lionel Shriver (audio)
- A Walk Across the Sun by Corban Addison
I really wanted to finish the Addison or Shriver (or both) last week, but couldn’t quite make it. Just normal busy days, nothing unusual. I’m about halfway through the Lopez, and I’ve been good about my one-chapter-per-day pace. I loved the essays on Antarctica and the Galapogos so far, and the one about commercial cargo flights was pretty interesting. Two-thirds through the Addison, and there have been times I wanted to DNF, but then a new chapter will start and catch my attention again. It’s good, but not the greatest thing I’ve ever read. Good enough that I want to and will finish. And I’m pretty close to the end of the Shriver, only about 2.5 hours left on the audio, I think? Not entirely sure, but I know it’s due back to the library in only 3 days!
Otherwise, we’ve admittedly been watching some TV around our house lately, specifically Dexter and Breaking Bad. We’re big fans and it’s kind of hard to believe that both series are ending in the next couple of weeks! We’ll have to go back and re-watch our DVDs of The Sopranos, I guess… at least that’s my vote! 🙂
What are you reading this week?
