It’s Monday, what are you reading?—a weekly blog meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.
I actually managed to finish two books over the weekend! A Fighting Chance by Elizabeth Warren (audio) and The Book of Unknown Americans by Cristina Henríquez. Both were great, and I actually have a couple nights off this week so I anticipate being able to get reviews done and posted, whoo! Same goes for Five Days at Memorial by Sheri Fink, which I finished last week.
After the Warren and Henríquez books I couldn’t resist dropping all other reading plans and starting Stone Mattress by Margaret Atwood, which came in the mail a week or so ago. I’m three stories in (there are nine total), and so far it’s definitely beating out the last book I read by her (The Blind Assassin, not my fave). There’s something about Atwood—I’m generally not interested in short stories or fantasy at all (phrases like “The Elven Lord of the Thraisborath” or whatever—lords, magical creatures, royalty, fantasy worlds—lose me INSTANTLY. No thanks.) but she has a way of pulling me in. So far, so good.
What are you reading this week?
