It’s Monday, what are you reading?—a weekly blog meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.
Well! Yesterday I ended up finished BOTH books I’ve been working on last week: We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver and Wave by Sonali Deraniyagala (audio). I thought for sure I had a little longer on Wave, but guess not! So. I’m trying to decide what to read next. I’m highly leaning towards The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolover (one of my TBR reads).
It’s going to be a busy week, too (husband returning from New York, book group at the library, friend from San Diego visiting, regular work stuff) so I think this might be a good choice at less than 300 pages. I also need a lighter read, since most of everything on my upcoming reads (and recent reads) are dark and disturbing. What do you think? Have you read this one by Kingsolver? I liked her Poisonwood Bible a lot several years ago when I read it.
What are you reading this week?
I am reading If You Could Be Mine by Sara Farizan. It’s about two best girl friends who are in love with each other while living in Iran and subjected to cultural belief systems.
I haven’t heard about that one, sounds really interesting. Hope you have a great reading week!
