Last year I had a lot of fun tracking my “travels” around the world thanks to reading books, so this year I decided to do the same. It’s great to see all the places completed on the map! It’s not exactly a challenge, so I like that the pressure is off for this.
This year, I made it to about half of the states in the US, more than 30 countries around the world, and to all seven continents! Click the map below to take a more detailed look.
Note: I have no idea why some pins are red and some are blue. Maybe because of the changeover from the old version to the new maps engine in Google? (shrug) Well, neither means anything to this map!
What a cool idea to mark your travels with books read. It looks like you and a lot of amazing adventures too!
I think so, too! I just love that you can escape from your normal everyday surroundings by getting sucked into a book.
I can’t take the original maps idea credit, thoughโI saw this last year on write meg!, who was inspired by Reading on a Rainy Day. ๐
Oh wow! You’ve been around the world! What a great idea to track the places where a story took place. I’m not sure how to do this, but maybe I’ll try it this year ๐
Yeah! Well, I kind of winged it using Google Maps. Not sure I’d call myself an expert on setting these up, but basically I just started a new map on google and dropped pins. ๐
