30 Day Book Challenge | Day 30 — Your favorite quotes from books and/or about books
Last post of the 30 Day Book Challenge! I have had so much fun doing this—it made me think a lot about everything I’ve read, good and bad, and brought up some really great memories. Here are a few of my favorite quotes about/from books:
“Here’s to books, the cheapest vacation you can buy.”
“So many books, so little time.”
“The world was hers for the reading.”
—Betty Smith, from A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
“When I have a little money, I buy books; and if I have any left, I buy food and clothes.”
—Desiderius Erasmus Roterodamus
“The more that you read, the more things you will know.
The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
—Dr. Seuss, from I Can Read with My Eyes Shut!
“Books are the perfect entertainment: no commercials, no batteries,
hours of enjoyment for each dollar spent. What I wonder is why everybody
doesn’t carry a book around for those inevitable dead spots in life.”
* Damn right, Stephen King! I always carry a book around with me—always. Even if I don’t think I’ll have any time for reading. I’m never alone or bored if I have a book to read!
