30 Day Book Challenge | Day 25 — A book you haven’t read yet but has been on your TBR list for a while
There are so many books I want to read but haven’t gotten to yet—on my physical shelves I have nearly 50 (borrowed from Mom, purchased, gifts) and then another maybe 150 on my Goodreads digital TBR list. The one book I’m choosing for this answer, though…
Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. One time years ago I was admiring my grandmother’s bookshelves and she saw me looking at this one (pictured is the edition I have). She said it was her favorite book of all time and that I could borrow it… well… (my) grammas are just awesome, selfless people and she hasn’t ever asked for it back. Guess it’s mine now! So I feel super guilty about not reading it yet, especially after Gramma basically gave it to me. But very grateful for her generosity and that I have a little something from my grandparents’ house after she moved to an apartment a couple years ago after Grampa died.
Here’s the thing about classics and me—I believe that the stories are great, but I just have trouble making myself sit down and read them. Other things draw my attention away. Maybe I’m wary of slow pacing? Antiquated language? Not entirely sure. I would like to get to this one in 2013 though. It’s well past time.
