I enjoyed Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale a lot; it was a chilling, darkly humorous, compelling dystopia. The story involved politics, feminism, religion… for such a short book it packed quite a thought-provoking punch. Women have worked so hard for the rights and freedoms we have now, imagine if those were taken away? This is an excellent book on par with 1984 and Brave New World. I’m glad I read this so soon after Fahrenheit 451 too; it was fun to compare the two different futuristic visions.
